No mow May in Northiam.31/5/22. The results so far. Insects are brilliant.

No mow May has started to show results

Below some of the wild flowers in my small strip of meadow.

From the top Oxeye daises ,Green Alkanet, Meadow buttercups , several different grasses and common birds-foot trefoil.

First comes the wild flowers ,followed quickly by the insects but to thrive we need rain but above all sunshine. I am blown away by the insects so far .Sadly not many butterflies, moths or caterpillars.

False blister beetle

From the top Hover fly, bulb fly, buff tailed bumble bee ,transverse conifer fly. I am looking forward to seeing what my small meadow produces in the coming month before cutting.
