Trees with holes.

It’s that time of year, as birds start to pair up and look for suitable homes to raise their chicks, there is a danger this habitat is being lost by unnecessary tree felling. These trees look dead and some people feel they are dangerous. However they are very important to birds and mammals in this country.

Up to 70 Jackdaws roost in this tree above and will give a home to at least 6 pairs. The tree has partly died, but is safe.

A Nuthatch checks out a hole in a tree.

The Nuthatch is really pleased with its choice.

Mammals need this habitat as well.

Of course there is another argument to be had about the Grey squirrel.

Not only mammals and birds but these trees are needed to house all sorts insects as well.

SAVE damaged trees.
